In the heart of the Sierra Morena in Seville, La Puebla de los Infantes is a portal to the purest and most fascinating nature. This enchanting town is the gateway to an area of great biodiversity, where the environmental wealth of the Sierra Morena Natural Park in Seville unfolds in all its splendour. This is where a magical path begins, inviting those who wish to leave the urban world behind and reconnect with the tranquillity of nature.

The Mirador de la Vera route is one of the jewels of this area. It begins at the ancient Roman fountain of Los Cañuelos, a spring that has witnessed the passage of time and the countless walkers who have enjoyed this natural setting over the centuries. From here, the route follows the old Carretera del Sanguino (Sanguinio Road), which has now been transformed into a quiet path that invites contemplation.

As you progress along the path, the landscape changes. The indigenous vegetation offers a lively mix of ecosystems: from dry forests of wild olive trees and holm oaks to wet meadows where cork oaks and gall oaks rise majestically above the green blanket of rock roses. It is a place where nature unfolds in all its splendour, offering shelter to the many species of flora and fauna that have made it their home.

The highlight of the route is the Mirador de la Vera, 550 metres above sea level. From this privileged balcony, visitors can enjoy an impressive view of the variety of landscapes in the province of Seville. On one side, the soft and mysterious shapes of the Northern Sierra; on the other, the Vega del Guadalquivir, a contrast of mountains and plains.

Opposite this viewpoint is the imposing José Torán reservoir, a giant mirror surrounded by mountains. Its calm waters reflect the sky, creating a sense of tranquillity and serenity, as if it were a sea hidden deep in the mountains. This reservoir is not only a place for contemplation, but also for adventure. Its waters are ideal for water sports such as canoeing, while its surroundings can be explored by bike or on foot along the mountain trails.

The Mirador de la Vera route is much more than a simple route. It is a journey to get in touch with nature, enjoy the silence and marvel at the landscapes that the Sierra Norte offers. From the heights of the viewpoint to the banks of the reservoir, each step is an invitation to discover the beauty hidden in every corner of this unique environment.
