Surrounded by pastures, streams and hills, this small municipality offers a network of routes that allow you to discover landscapes of great beauty, combining the tranquillity of the countryside with the rich biodiversity of the region. From short walks to more demanding routes, the trails of Real de la Jara are ideal for those who want to get away from it all and enjoy nature in its purest form.

One of the most outstanding routes is the Camino del Batrocal, an 11.5-kilometre loop that crosses pastures and the Rivera del Cala. This route allows you to walk among oaks and aromatic plants, in a traditional ecosystem shaped by man. The route ends at the Rivera del Cala Interpretation Centre, where visitors can learn about the local flora and fauna and the rural culture of the area. This route is ideal for those who want to get in touch with nature and enjoy unique landscapes.

Another popular route is the La Lobera Geo Route, an easy 14.5km walk that takes in ravines and streams and passes through farms such as La Lobera Alta and La Lobera Baja. This route allows you to immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the environment, surrounded by nature and stunning views, before returning to the village along a sandy path.

For those who prefer shorter walks, the Sendero de los Dos Castillos is an ideal option. This 2 kilometre route starts at the El Real de la Jara castle and also allows you to visit the Las Torres castle in Monesterio (Badajoz). From both castles, visitors can enjoy exceptional views and immerse themselves in the region's medieval history.

Another attractive option is the 11-kilometre Ruta de la Rivera del Cala, which starts in the Plaza de San Bartolomé and follows the riverbed, crossing bridges and recreational areas. Along the way, you can enjoy beautiful scenery, such as the Rivera del Cala reservoir, as well as campsites with services, making this an excellent option for a family outing.

Finally, the Buitrera and La Santa route takes us along rural roads with impressive views of the El Pintado reservoir and the Viar ravine, home to a colony of vultures. This 17-kilometre route takes you into the wildest nature of the Sierra Morena, passing through farmhouses and streams.
